Products can be set to display on a kitchen screen or multiple screens. These can be used for example a cutting table, for the chefs to view orders or for packing the order in a takeaway.
Adding a KDS
Press +New Kitchen Display.
The reference number has been automatically generated.
Next, you must choose how the products will be grouped on the display,
None- No grouping the products will just appear as they have been entered.
Courses- This will be what your organisation has set as their courses, for example Starter, Main and Dessert.
Cover- The order must be entered in the format of assign covers for this to be applied. The food will display pre cover.
Product Group- Displays the items according to how the products have been grouped in the back office.
Product Department- Displays the item according to the products department in the back office.
Add a description of the KDS, this will be used to help identify which screen this is connected to.
Selecting The Type of KDS
First select the Type of Kitchen Display.
Once this has been selected, next chose how the KDS will respond when orders are sent.
Course Alerts - Shows starter/mains away.
Start on New- The order will be visible when sent to the KDS, if this is unselected then the order will be blurred until it has been taped as acknowledged.
Show All Active Orders- This setting is for line and expedite screens, if selected this setting will only allow the order to show on these screen once it has been marked as starting on the prep.
Allow Status Override- This setting will allow orders to be bumped from the line and expedite screens.
Click on the save button to finish and send the changes to the POS. Please note the Point of Sale must also be updated.
