Vat Rates

VAT Rates determine the VAT percentage that is applied to each product sold through the point-of-sale, VAT Rates can be assigned to individual Products or can be linked to a Pricing Model which is applied to a Product based on the Department it is linked to.

To add a VAT Rate:

  1. Click the New Rate button.

  2. By default, the Reference is populated with the next available in sequence, to overwrite this type the reference required into the Reference input box

  1. Enter the VAT Rate’s description into the Description box

  2. Enter the VAT Rate’s percentage into the Rate input box

  1. Select Save

Example:

VAT Rates can be assigned to a Product or to an individual Price of a product. For example, if a product such as a cold sandwich has a VAT Rate of 20% when consumed on the premises but a VAT Rate of 0% when take away these VAT Rates can be configured with the corresponding percentages. The VAT Rates can then be assigned to a Price Level within a product or to a Pricing Model against a product’s linked department.
