Table Size Rules

Table Size rules help optimise seating arrangements by specifying the minimum number of guests table sizes should accommodate. This guarantees reservations for tables of suitable sizes, thereby boosting the seating capacity during a service.

Note: Rules automatically apply to the online widget. During manual reservation entry on the point-of-sale, users have the ability to override rules, enabling them to ignore table capacities according to their own discretion.

Adding a Rule

  1. After signing in to the Back Office select >Settings > Tables and then select Services and a list of the current services are displayed.

  2. To edit the settings of a Service click ‘Edit’ icon beside the required Service.

  3. Navigate to the Rules section.

  1. To create a new Rule select the +Add Rule button.

  2. Select Enabled to apply this rule now.

  3. Enter the Description for this rule.

  4. Choose Table Size from the Type drop down.

  1. Enter the Table Size this rule applies to.

Note: Table sizes are allocated against Tables in the Table Areas plan.

  1. Enter the Minimum Covers that you wish to seat at the Table

  2. Choose a Time profile when this rule applies.

Note: This can be set by time profile so for example on busy days the capacity rules apply but on quieter days you can allow smaller parties to be seated on larger tables.’

  1. After adding the Rules select the ‘Save’ button to save the Service.

  2. Select ‘Update Tills’ from the main screen and ‘Send Changes’ to apply the Rules to the reservations widget.

Note: The widget browser must be refreshed to view the changes. Please allow up to two minutes for any changes to apply.
