How do I temporarily close my online store for Christmas and New Year?

iWantfed online stores use Time Profiles to set the days of the week and specific time windows during which customers can place online orders. In addition to Time Profiles, each store has the option to setup Time Slots, which define the capacity for both Collections and Deliveries within designated time intervals while the store is operational.

Instead of altering your store’s opening times or time slots and potentially overlooking the need to reopen, Tapa POS provides the flexibility to set Exceptions. These Exceptions define specific days and times when you can temporarily suspend online orders.


Determining Time Profile

The first thing you have to do is find out which Time profile you use for Delivery and Collection.

  1. After signing in to the Back Office select >Ordering and then select Settings and the current online ordering settings are displayed.

  1. Make a note of the Time Profile assigned to both Delivery and Collection.

Note: Most stores will use the same Time Profile


Editing the Time Profile

Outlets can set up Time Profiles to outline specific Delivery or Collection periods for various days of the week. Each time profile specifies the start and end times for a particular service.

  1. From the main navigation menu on the left select >Settings > Time Profiles

  2. Select the noted Time Profile and click the ‘Edit’ icon under Actions.


Adding Exceptions

Exceptions can also be set so that if the changes are are only temporary or for only certain dates these can be scheduled ahead of time

  1. Select the Date From and Time From that you want to close online orders from and then select Date To and Time To to choose when the online orders will reopen

  2. Select the ‘Generate Slots’ button.

Note: Multiple exceptions can be setup for Christmas and New Year closing.

  1. After adding exceptions select the ‘Save’ button.

  2. Select ‘Update Tills’ from the main screen and ‘Send Changes’ to apply the time profile changes to the point-of-sale and online ordering site.

Note: The app re-opened or online browser must be refreshed to apply the changes. Please allow up to two minutes for any changes to apply.
